domain of specialization
Stream ecology;
Invertebrate and aquatic hyphomycetes ecology;
Ecosystem function (decomposition of organic material).

present investigation interests
Use of meta-analyse to address the effect of environmental change on litter decomposition in freshwaters.

Investigation of the effect of increased water temperature, individualy and in combination with other global change factors (e.g. nutrient enrichment, changes in litter quality induced by increasing CO2 atm levels) on aquatic communities and processes.

Study of the effect of biotic and abiotic factors on the decomposition of submerged organic material, activity and community structure of associated invertebrates and fungi.

Use of organic material decomposition, as a key ecosystem level process, to assess stream functional integrity.

Use of benthic macroinvertebrate communities to assess stream structural integrity.
