A workshop on Guiné-Bissau’s creole language will be offered by Professor Alain Kihm of the University of Paris, author of the book Kriyol Syntax: The Portuguese-based Language of Guinea-Bissau, Amsterdam/Philadelphia: John Benjamins, 1994).

It will take place in the Seminar Room of the Instituto de Estudos Norte Americanos, 6th floor of the Faculdade de Letras of the University of Coimbra on March 27th (Saturday, 10 am to 1 pm, i.e. 3 hours).

The working language will English but discussion will be in Portuguese as well. All interested scholars are invited to attend free of charge, but they are requested to register at <jholm@mail.telepac.pt> before March 24th so everyone can be accommodated comfortably.
