The Seventh International Meeting of Poets will take place in the Faculty of Letters of the University of Coimbra and in other pleasant spots of the city and its surroundings.

The theme of this edition is "The Tongues of Poetry". Someone said once that the language of poetry is always the same, and always foreign. This is what, with your help, we wish to rethink, by considering the materiality of the body in the tongue-organ and in the bodily gestures, tongue as a community of speakers, singularity in the diversity of languages, inter-translatability of expressions. Our objective is to reflect on the many manifestations of poetry and its many ways of saying the world, from pure song to celebration, from proclamation to silence, from intervention to resistance, from continuities to ruptures. Together with the poets’ readings, the event will feature scholarly workshops on the many tongues of poetry.
