Georgi
Gospodinov
Was born in 1968. He is the Editor-in-chief of "Literary
Newspaper" and a lecturer at the Department of New Bulgarian
Studies, New Bulgarian University. He writes poetry, fiction
and literary criticism. His books include: the poetry books
Lapidarium (1992); The Cherry-Tree of a People (1996);Bulgarian
Reader (1995) and Bulgarian Anthology (1998, in collaboration);
the novel Natural Novel (1999) and And Other Stories (2000).
He has won several awards, including Best Book Award of the
Association of Bulgarian Writers (1996) for The Cherry Tree
of a People. He is represented in several French, German and
English anthologies of Contemporary Bulgarian Poetry. His
poems and short stories are published in periodicals in the
U.S.A., Germany, France, Austria, Hungary, Finland, Greece,
etc.
