Myriam Dias-Diocaretz
Author,
editor, and co-editor of 18 books in English, French and Spanish on
poetics, translation studies, gender, cultural studies. As a poet she
has published Que no se pueden decir (New York: 1982), IR (Madrid: Torremozas, 1987), El arco, la flecha, el blanco(Madrid: Orígenes, 1988), La galaxia de los tiempos (Mallorca, 1993). She edited and translated Adrienne Rich: Antología Poética 1951-1981 (Madrid: Visor, 1986), and Aire y Angeles (Barcelona: Grijalbo Mondadori, 1999). Her recent critical editions include: The Matrix in Theory (with S. Herbrechter) Amsterdam/New York 2006, and Joyful Babel: Translating Hélène Cixous (with Marta Segarra) Amsterdam/New York 2004. She is the author of Translating Poetic Discourse: Questions of Feminist Strategies in Adrienne Rich (1985) and The Transforming Power of Language: The Poetry of Adrienne Rich(1984).
She earned a PhD. in Comparative Studies, State University of New
York; M.A. Stanford University; Lic. en Letras, University of
Concepcion, Chile. Born in Chile, she lives in the Netherlands since
1983.
