Pedro Marqués de Armas
Pedro Marqués de Armas was born in La Habana, in 1965.
He has published the following books of poetry: Fondo de ojo (1988), Los altos manicomios (1993) e Cabezas (2001).
He has poems published in the following anthologies: Mapa Imaginario (1995); Antología de la poesía latinoamericana del siglo XXI (1997); Memorias de la clase muerta (2002); y El decir y el vértigo: poesía hispanoamericana reciente (2005).
Há has collaborated in the journals Mandorla, Diario de Poesía, Action Poétique, Lichtungen, etc.
In 1997 he founded the journal/project of alternative writing Diásporas, which was forbidden by Cuban authorires.
He
now lives in Coimbra, Portugal, under the ICORN (International Cities
of Refuge Network) programme, which helps authors persecuted or
censored in their own contries.
